UPDATE: Currently evaluating a Shimano 8 Speed Rear Hub which offers an improved gear spread in combination with the Patterson 2 speed front crank.

The First prototype was designed to achieve a trike chassis that could allow for 6" long travel suspension on all 3 wheels, folding capabilities to help in storage and transportation, as well as completely retain that chain when folded. Brakes on all wheels are internal Sturmey Archer drum brake hubs, and an integrated Sturmey Archer 8 speed internal rear transmission.  This prototype has been fitted with a 2 speed Patterson front crank, making it a 16 speed trike.  This particular trike has a 175mm crank length.

This trike is very versatile and performs most of the functions intended in the production design.  Some shortcomings consist of alignment for complete folding "pinned positions" in the front suspension and fabrication changes to the rear suspension shock positions.  Someone who considers them self a "DIY" person will likely be the most appreciative of the engineering and capabilities of this prototype. The Trike suspension and drive train are fully operational, folding of the rear is complete, folding of the front arms is limited to non-pin alignment type travel, but does fold completely to minimize width to more than the seat. Please contact us with any questions or requests for further details.

All three shocks have adjustable spring tension and multiple positions for more or less suspension geometry, less suspension travel in exchange for a stiffer ride.  A water bottle cage, and hand pump have been added to the frame behind the seat.
